Ludovic Ndaye
After spending an official visit at Fresno State recently, Ludovic Ndayé wasted little time in making a verbal commitment to a Division 1 school. However, it was to another school he had visited earlier. He becomes the fourteenth Canadian set to sign a Letter of Intent when the NCAA’s Early Signing Period begins this upcoming Wednesday.
“I chose Cleveland State because they showed me the most devotion,” said Ndaye.
“When I went to visit the school, I just loved the people. They didn’t try to put on some show, if you know what I mean. All the schools are offering the same stuff, but at the end of the day, you just have to know what you want and what you are looking for.”
The 6’8” Ndaye really came on strong during this year’s AAU season, opting to play with the Ohio Basketball Club, and intrigued numerous Division 1 programs with his upside. With great length, the Montreal native has an “inside-out” versatility to his game – bodying down low against posts or moving around the perimeter to hit routine jumpers.
“The [Cleveland State] staff and players make you feel so comfortable and you just feel like it’s your family. Trust was very important. I built a good connection and feel that I will fit well in their program.”
Cleveland State competes in the Horizon Conference under head coach Gary Waters. The Vikings qualified for the NCAA Tournament last year after defeating Butler in the Horizon tournament final. They proceeded to knock off Wake Forest in the first round of the NCAA’s before falling to Arizona.
Ndaye’s final list of schools included Fresno State, James Madison, Akron, Hawaii, New Mexico, Eastern Washington, Penn State, SMU, Wyoming, and Colorado.
After two years with the NEDA (National Elite Development Academy) program in Hamilton, he is spending his post-grad year at Westwind Academy in Phoenix, Arizona.
